Public-Sector Experience Across Canada
My background reflects over three decades of service in public-sector roles involving security, financial crime, and operational risk. My work has been carried out across British Columbia, Ontario (Ottawa), and Nova Scotia, with responsibilities ranging from frontline operations to national-level advisory and coordination roles.
I served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in a variety of capacities prior to entering independent advisory work.

National Security & Financial Intelligence
Within the RCMP National Security Criminal Operations Branch, my responsibilities included:
Contributing to national initiatives related to terrorist financing and financial intelligence
Supporting the management, protection and sharing of sensitive information domestically and internationally
Providing analysis and briefings to senior leadership
Representing program interests at international policy and coordination forums, including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)
Facilitating training programs for domestic and international participants
Developed first RCMP municipal technological crime unit.
All work was conducted within established legal, policy, and ministerial frameworks.
Financial Crime & Securities-Related Investigations
As part of the RCMP Integrated Market Enforcement Team (IMET), I worked on major securities-related investigations involving complex financial structures and cross-border considerations. My work included:
Investigative support on project-designated files
Coordination with domestic and international law-enforcement partners
Preparation of materials for judicial processes
Analysis of financial, governance, and disclosure risks
To support this work, I completed formal securities education and undertook an industry placement with Nesbitt Burns (BMO) in support of the national IMET initiative.
Operational Planning & Systems Implementation
I contributed to and led several public-sector initiatives involving operational risk and systems planning, including:
Development of a national operational planning framework for airport policing related to terrorism following 9/11
Project management support for the implementation of an electronic police records management system in British Columbia
Participation in early municipal technological crime initiatives
These roles required coordination across agencies and levels of government.
